RES|FEST at the V&A Dundee: The Courtauld Institute of Art

Take a break from revision and venture across the bridge to the V&A Dundee’s FREE art festival on Friday night and Saturday day.

The Courtauld Institute of Art and V&A Dundee are holding a two-day art historical festival, RES|FEST x Dundee, from 29th-30 November.

First launched in 2017, RES|FEST has been held at Somerset House, Belfast and Vernon Square. This, however, is the first time that the Courtauld Institute of Art has brought the festival to Scotland.

Friday 29th November, Opening Night: 7PM-10PM

There will be a wide range of talks, spoken word and musical performances such as:

A programme of inspirational and provocative 10-minute talks by:

- Aviva Burnstock (The Courtauld Institute of Art),

- Mick Peter (Artist),

- Dalziel + Scullion (Artists),

- Eoin Dara (Dundee Contemporary Art),

- Meredith Moore (V&A Dundee),

- Robin Schuldenfrei (The Courtauld Institute of Art),

- Lisa Williams (The Edinburgh Caribbean Society)

- And many more!

+ An Installation, ‘Queering the Canon’ by drag artist Rujazzle, reimagining iconic works from the Courtauld’s collection.

+ Private View and curator’s tour of, ground-breaking new exhibition, ‘Hello, Robot’.

+ Exclusive DJ set OH141, from Glasgow – formed as a creative network which aims to create an inclusive club experience.

+ Pop-up bars and bites to eat!

The event is free, but booking on the Friday night is essential due to popular demand! (BOOK HERE!)

Saturday 30th November: 12PM- 4PM

- In discussion’ sessions between researchers from The Courtauld Institute of Art and those based at V&A Dundee.

+ Textile Designer, Lucy Robertson from Duncan & Jordonstone College of Art and Design will host a ‘Sonic Textile Garden’.

+ Jewellery Artist and Design Researcher, Katharina Vones will show attendees how to create jewellery using a 3D printer (+ participants will be able to take their unique creation home and watch it change colour when worn!)

+ Also family workshops and pop-up tours & lots more!

*Saturday will be drop-in and no booking is required*
